Beans, Beans are good for your heart, the more you eat the more you….fart!
Beans do wonders for our hearts! Eating beans daily can actually decrease our risk for heart disease. Beans are also high in soluble fiber which can lower your cholesterol levels! Basically the fiber binds to bile (which contains the cholesterol) and removes it from our bodies even before it can be absorbed! Amazing! Beans are beneficial for diabetics as well. Eating beans will help give you a constant source of energy, and will prevent your blood sugar from spiking and then cashing. Bean’s high fiber and protein help keep you full, which in turn prevent you from eating fatty foods/sugary foods with no nutrients. This can aid in weight loss! Beans are loaded with nutrients, such as B vitamins, potassium, folate and calcium. Beans are so good for you and also so cheap! Beans come in so many different varieties! You have a great selection if you do not like one type. Beans are so versatile, and you can make so many different types of dishes, salads, soups, dips, chili, vegetarian meals, even beans as desserts!
Today I have a recipe in which I made that I love! It is so easy and will take you 5 minutes or less to make!
4 Bean Salad
1 can Kidney Beans
1 can Black Beans
1 can garbonzo beans/chick peas
1 can Great Northern Beans
6 ounces (Seeds of Change brand) greek feta vinaigrette
Open and rinse beans in a strainer. Mixed beans together in a medium bowl. Add in vinaigrette and mix gently.
